First of all, I would like to share that I just wrote a lovely "tell all" about the happenings in my life this year up to now, and I accidentally erased it all with a push of a button!!! Damn computers!!! And damn my slow as hell typing skills! Because there is no way in all of DA-land that I will have the oomph to retype it in all of its splendor once again! Bummer!!!!
Anyhow, I will recap it to the best of my ability. I tuned 29 in January! And I must say, I'm excited to turn the big 3-0 next year!!!! I want to have a big bash if at all possible!! I have no problem with getting older.. at least for now!!! I just try to be healthy, active and maintain a positive outlook on life!! And thats the secret... along with "shit-tons" of Oil Of Olay products!!! hahahaha!
Miles turned 10 on June 1st! We took him to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk overnight and had a great time! I have a cool story to share with you guys, but i have to share a fact about Miles to ensure the story makes sense. FACT: Miles' current obsession is Michael Jackson! Yes, you read that right, Michael Jackson! And not the creepy white Michael of today, but the amazingly cool and talented guy of many moons ago that wowed us with ridiculously innovative entertaining skills!!! So, this is my little story... We went to see Kung Fu Panda the night we were in Santa Cruz and the movie was out pretty late, so we went to get a bite at a local vegetarian eatery that is open late. "Thriller" came on in the restaurant and I saw Miles' face light up immediately! We saw the waiter doing a half-ass zombie dance at the table behind us and when he walked by, I made a comment that my son knows the whole dance that goes to Thriller! Without hesitation, the waiter asked Miles if he would show him some moves!! Much to my surprise, MIles' agreed to join him!!! The half of the restaurant that actually saw Miles perform broke out in raucous applause!!! And MIles topped it off with a sweet moonwalk!! So...that's my story, I hope you enjoyed it! It was a super proud moment for me! And they even gave him a free meal for it!!!!
And now, i have one more cool story to share! It will explain why my latest deviations are going be face paintings! 2 fridays ago, I got a call at my work from this woman that I know who is a professional makeup artist. She knows that I have always been interested in that field , and she got a call for a job that she wasn't going to be able to do and she wanted to know if I wanted to do it!!! Of course I was excited, yet completely horrified, since I have never done anything like that!!! We'll just say that It was way out of my comfort zone! To keep a long story short, she convinced me to call the guy and take the weekend job!! It was for a children's television show called "Say What". Its a kid's sketch comedy show, on a channel that I don't even have! Anyhow, I had to do light makeup for the girls, and Frankenstein makeup on one of the boys! The only real problem that surfaced was with the Frankenstein makeup. After i had completed the makeup look, (and if i say so, it looked great), they realized that it couldn't be green because they were filming against a green screen! Needless to say, it was a pain in the ass, and the resulting product was less than desirable, in my opinion. But they were very cool with it, and I can't wait to see the mess I made on T. V!!! Oh, and they even offered me a summer job, which I couldn't take, but was super flattering, nonetheless!!! So, I think I'm going to try and take some makeup classes and see if I can do more jobs like that!!! So, thats why Miles is becoming my guinea pig , and you are going to see plenty of new deviations in my new craft of choice!!!
